eftb remixes online

It’s been almost four months now that we have released Entertainment for the Braindead’s “Hydrophobia”. Since then it has been downloaded over 20.000 times and the album has gained a lot of positive reviews which have contributed to spreading her music to people around the world. Some of these people have felt inspired and took the time to remix a couple of Entertainment for the Braindead’s songs. We love it – not only because the songs turned out great, but also because using an artist’s piece of work to create a new one reflects our viewpoint on what music is about. Art never is static, it’s growing with the people who get in touch with it.

Some News

A lot of things happened in the last few weeks and there is new stuff coming up in the following weeks.

The Wind Whistles
Tom and Liza are back in their cosy home and are doing a great job in sorting out all the fotos, drawings and messages they got in their open tourdiary (everyone who visited one of their shows knows that they invited everyone to sign it, write a story or draw a picture in it). Some of these drawings can be looked at over here. We also recommend you to read their wonderful tourstories.
Besides dealing with what happened in the past, our lovely friends from canada are allready working on their new album, which they wrote on tour. They got a few dozen songs. We are all so excited about what songs will be on this new album. Next year they will be coming back to Europe to let us all know.

Entertainment For The Braindead
Julia is getting a lot of attention right now and we are all so very happy to see her like this. Countless nice reviews, radio airplay all over the world and some print magazine appearances speak for itself, i guess. She is also working (constantly) on new songs, plays guitar in another band and enjoys performing her songs live. Every now and then she plays a show in or near her hometown of cologne. In February, we will join her on a little tour through Germany. This will be just fantastic.
There is also something that you can look forward to in the next days/weeks because Julia aggreed on open sourcing some of her songs. The individual tracks of 5 of her songs have been send to some remixartists who re-wrote her music. We are overwhelmed by the creative response to this “remix-contest”. You will be able to listen to the remixes soon. In addition to that, we will also give you the possibility to remix her songs by providing you with the source-files, too.
And there is even more news: Her album “hydrophobia” will be published in a music-magazine in january in a number of 14000 copies. You will have to watch out for that! We will let you know when and where to get a copy.

Keyboard Rebel
Our new friends from Manchester have been in our personal heavy rotation in the last few weeks and we still can’t get enough of them :) It seems like others feel the same way. More than 1000 Downloads in the first few weeks give us an idea of what is about to come, i hope. We are still amazed about what they do and the fact that all their effort is to help people who really need help (remember: every penny they earn through performing their music or selling merch goes to amnesty international). Lately they have been featured in a number of podcasts and attention to their work is constantly growing.

Thank you for supporting us and our artists by spreading the word! Please keep it up.

Yours,

the aaahh-records team
