Wann? Samstag, 27.06.09 | 20:30 Uhr
Wo? Breipott – Skalitzer Str. 81 / Berlin Kreuzberg

aaahh-news // 05/09

A little late, but always full of the finest news from your favourite netlabel, we proudly send you the monthly aaahh-newsletter.

The Wind Whistles
The Wind Whistles

Yeah! The new album “Animals are people too” is out and we are very happy about it! Superb music from Vancouver! Besides, you should really get the “Secret Album”, too. It is really the missing part between “Window Sills” and “Animals”.
Maybe some of you had the luck to be at one of the German shows from Tom&Liza, and left it with a shining smile on your face. We spent some time and some shows with them, and the only thing we can say is: They are awesome people! Real friends, when you know what we mean.
Let me tell one little story. If you are living in Germany, you probably know there are lots of elections this year. So, there are lots of different posters around, most of them boring and not worth to talk about in this newsletter (or in general). But there are a few ones, you should talk about! That are the ones from the fascist party NPD.
Man, we couldn´t stand those ones and cut one of these „Outsiders out“ from the lantern (hey, it hung really high!). So far, so good, worth the work. Only some policemen saw us and weren´t with our opinion…
The moral of this story is, if you didn´t buy a Wind Whistles CD or donate for them, you should probably do it now…because this little story will cost them possibly some money. Thanks!
(If you missed Tom&Liza, don´t worry! They will be back in Germany soon. More dates here.

ne:o had their record-release-party and guys, you won´t believe how awesome this show was. There were a crowd of people dancing deep in an old cellar of a factory in Dresden. There were naked girls dressed with trimmings and paper bags on their head. That was such a (sorry) fucking crazy night, that some of us will probably tell their grandchildren about it! And because you won´t believe me, you should be aware of the tour ne:o will start in November together with our friends Keyboard Rebel from Manchester! If you think you have the right factory-cellar or something similar that will work, mail us /info[at]aaahh-records.net) and we will bring you some real good music and maybe some trimmings too, but no girls. Sorry, but we are only a musiclabel…(Only that you don´t think wrong about ne:o: They played at an art exhibition!)

Aaahh, this wonderful woman Julia! Can´t get enough of her. Neither can you? Okay, here she is in 140 characters. Maybe it will help us all out a little bit.
If you want to read an interview with this amazing artist from cologne, you should click here.
The Interview is also about the CologneCommons, where you can meet EFTB and some of us. Be there or be square.

Inside aaahh
We had a real nice time at (PopUp-Leipzig. We met lots of nice people (and some dusty ones from the GEMA…). We are happy, that we could share the idea of Creative Commons and netlabels while a personal talk. Although we are „internet-guys“, there is nothing better than talking face-to-face, isn´t it!
And we won´t forget to say, that it would have been only half the fun without the fabulous SimSullen from 12re.net!

Keep it free and charming!
Sincerely,
aaahh-records
